Building Research

The Archaeological Park features several Roman buildings like the amphitheatre. Each of these scientifically reconstructed buildings is the result of excavations and many years of archaeological and historical building research.

Construction researcher and architect Dr. Peter Kienzle (on the right) is in charge of the existing reconstructions and prepares the further expansion of the Archaeological Park. At the moment his most important scientific project is the reconstruction of three Roman homes.

Architect Hermann Kolfen (on the left) focuses on the structural maintenance of the APX's real estate and the planning and construction of new visitor facilities.

Draughtswoman Roswitha Laubach (in the middle) produces accurate plans and drawings for all construction projects at the APX.
