The APX is well suited for people with a disability. We are happy to advise you, help you plan your visit and assist you during your visit.
Most parts of the APX are accessible to mobility impaired visitors.
A flyer informs you about the accessible areas as well as the location of mobile ramps and toilettes. Wheelchairs can be rented at the box office of the APX. The paths are constantly optimised for wheelchair users and are kept in good repair. The reconstructions of the Roman houses are largely accessible to people with impaired mobility.
For blind and visually impaired visitors, a touch gallery has been installed in the Roman Hostel. The touch gallery can be visited by groups. Individual visitors are asked to contact the supervisory staff.
An audio tour on CD guides visitors through the Park and informs them about historical backgrounds. CDs and players are available at the box office where you can also get a braille map of the Park.
Our "Hands-on history" programme is a special hands-on course for blind and visually impaired people. It can only be booked in connection with a guided tour.
For over 15 years, the APX has offered guided tours for people with learning disabilities. There is a lot to discover in the reconstructions of the Roman buildings. Many objects during the tour may be touched and tried out. The "Roman Clothing" course is particularly suited for learning impaired visitors.
If you wish to be accompanied by a sign language interpreter during your guided tour, please contact us early enough.
